James McAvoy found huge success with Blumhouse’s smash hits Split and Glass, and he’s gearing up for another collaboration with the studio. The British actors landed the lead role in Speak No Evil, the English-speaking remake of the acclaimed Danish thriller of the same name.

Speak No Evil serves as the remake of Christian Tafdrup’s psychological thriller, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival last year. It centers on a Danish couple visiting a Dutch family they met on a holiday, but their idyllic weekend at a peaceful country house turns into a nightmare once their hosts start to test their limits.

James Watkins, who made his directorial debut with cult thriller Eden Lake before directing The Woman in Black and Bastille Day, will return in the director’s chair for the first time in eight years with this project. He wrote the script and serves as one of the producers.

This project sounds right in McAvoy’s wheelhouse, considering he starred in several hit thrillers in recent years. In addition to finding huge success with Split and Glass, he recently appeared in It Chapter Two and the mystery thriller My Son. He also has several exciting projects on the way, including Jeymes Samuel’s epic film The Book of Clarence.
