Jamie Dornan has a thing for playing sociopaths.
The Irish actor first made a name for himself by starring in The Fall as a serial killer and now he will be returning to television to play another.
The Fifty Shades Freed star has signed on to portray Dr. Christopher Duntsch, who was known as Dr. Death, in a new series from Universal Content Production that is currently being shopped around.
The show will be based on the true story of the charming neurosurgeon whose patients would end up maimed or dead on his operating table and the two fellow surgeons who teamed up to stop him.
According to UCP, “The series will explore the “twisted mind of a sociopath and the gross negligence of the system designed to protect the most defenseless among us.”
Alec Baldwin and Christian Slater have also joined the cast as neurosurgeon Robert Henderson and vascular surgeon Randall Kirby.
Dr. Death is based on the Wondery podcast which has been listened to over 50 million.
