Jane Gloriana Villanueva might soon be laying down her pen.

Star of Jane the Virgin, Gina Rodriguez, has indicated that the series about the virgin who found herself accidentally inseminated could come to an end at the conclusion of its 5th series.

In addition to portraying the titular character, Gina — who is an executive producer of the show — has been directing episodes of the Golden Globe-winning dramedy.

Rogelio de la Vega would be proud.

The 33-year-old served as the keynote speaker at Create & Cultivate and Fossil’s Women To Watch Day event in Austin, Texas, where she spoke about directing, saying she has plans to “do more next year — in our final season.”

The telenovela-style series, which features Spanish-speaking characters, been recognized for its positive depiction of Latinos and strong women.

US network, The CW, that produces Jane has neither confirmed nor denied Gina’s statement that the 5th season will be the show’s swan-song.

But, if it is, we hope that Jane Gloriana Villanueva receives the fairytale ending she deserves.
