The 46-year-old actor-singer will hitchhike across the country in honor of the release of Thirty Seconds to Mars’ new album America. Leto announced his plan during his recent appearance on On Air With Ryan Seacrest.

“Yeah, it’s a pretty adventure,” Leto said. “I’m going to hitchhike among other things across the country from New York City to Los Angeles. I’m going to jump on a donkey in the Grand Canyon or take a hot air balloon.”

The first stop for Leto on his hitchhike tour was 30 Rockefeller Center in New York, where he visited the set of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Everything went smoothly from there since Leto immediately got a ride from A$AP Rocky, who just happened to be passing by.

The Academy Award winner will also visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland during his trip and will stop by in Chicago to check out Skydeck.

Life on the road won’t be a problem for Leto, who spoke candidly about the experience in his interview with Ryan Seacrest.

“You see a lot of unity. You see a lot of things that are very different from what we might expect from what we see on the news,” he told Seacrest. “You see a lot of people getting along. You see a lot of beauty. You see a lot of inspiration.”

Thirty Seconds to Mars will release America, their fifth studio album, on April 6. The band already dropped two singles from the album, “Walk on Water” and “Dangerous Night”, both of which were well received by critics and audience. Following the album’s release on April 6, Thirty Seconds to Mars will embark on a tour across Europe and North America.
