The upcoming big screen adaptation of Cats already boasts one of the most impressive casts in recent memory – and things just got a little bit better. Jason Derulo is the latest addition to the star-studded ensemble of this promising musical.
His casting is one of the most pleasant surprises about the movie version of Cats, because no one really saw it coming. Derulo’s musical talent is undeniable, but he has zero acting experience and this project will serve as his movie debut.
The R&B sensation has been cast as Rum Tum Tugger, described as the rebel cat, who cannot help but be difficult. His epic movies in the original musical were inspired by none other than Mick Jagger.
Jason Derulo may be the latest musician to join the cast of Cats, but he’s not the only one. Grammy winners Jennifer Hudson and Taylor Swift are also on board. The upcoming big screen re-imagining of the hit musical also stars James Corden, Ian McKellen, Idris Elba, Judi Dench, and Rebel Wilson.
