The DC Universe experienced a major shakeup after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over, but there’s one actor who doesn’t seem to fear for his future. Jason Momoa is excited about the future of the DCU and he recently shared an update regarding his future as Aquaman.

Momoa recently attended the premiere of the documentary Deep Rising at the Sundance Film Festival, and the reporter couldn’t resist asking him questions about Aquaman. He’s excited to return to this role, but he’s open to playing more characters in the future.

“I love [James] Gunn and so there’s gonna be some really cool things, what they’re doing with DC, and I definitely will be in more than just on… There’s room for me to play a couple different [roles]… I’ll always be Aquaman, and there’s a lot of evolution for that,” said Momoa.

Momoa took the lead in the original 2018 Aquaman movie, which became the highest-grossing DC movie with $1.1 billion worldwide. Its sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is a long time coming, and it’s set to premiere on Christmas Day. He previously played Aquaman in Justice League and made a cameo in HBO Max’s Peacemaker led by John Cena.
