Jason Statham will soon appear in David Ayer’s The Beekeeper, and they’re already gearing up for another high-profile collaboration. Statham landed the lead role in Ayer’s next action movie Levon’s Trade, which hails from a screenplay written by Sylvester Stallone.

Levon’s Trade is based on Chuck Dixon’s series of comic books, and Stallone took it upon himself to adapt it to the big screen. He was previously developing the project as a TV series through Balboa Productions but eventually decided to take a different approach to the source material.

Statham will star as Levon Cade, who’s trying to leave the shadowy world of black ops behind and live a simple life with his daughter. His plan crumbles when his boss’s teenage daughter Jenny goes missing, and he must use his special skills to find her.

Ayer, Stallone, and Statham are all coming on board as producers through their respective companies, along with former Miramax boss Bill Block via BlockFilm, who also produced The Beekeeper.

“Jason and I have worked together on a number of films, and most recently the three of us collaborated on The BeekeeperLevon’s Trade is going to be another spectacular action movie and I’m confident we’ve assembled the dream team to bring the first novel in this celebrated series to the big screen,” said Block in a statement.
