We’re used to seeing Jason Statham in fast-paced action movies, and it seems like his next project will follow that same formula. He’ll join forces with Miramax for a new thriller The Bee Keeper, which draws inspiration from the mythology of beekeeping.

A spec script for this project was written by Kurt Wimmer, and the studio is currently searching for a director. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but here’s what Miramax CEO Bill Block had to say about this exciting project: “The Bee Keeper explores universal themes with an unconventional story that will have fans sitting on the edge of their seats. We’re excited to bring another iconic and irresistible film to audiences around the globe,” Block told Deadline.

The Bee Keeper will be filmed in London and Atlanta, and the production is set to kick off in September 2022.

This project was announced just a few months after Statham starred in another Miramax film—Wrath of Man, directed by his frequent collaborator Guy Ritchie. Statham is also set to play the lead role in the director’s upcoming spy film Five Eyes, also starring Aubrey Plaza, Bugzy Malone, Josh Hartnett, and Hugh Grant.
