The new Jay and Silent Bob reboot is sure to feature many cameos by A-list stars throughout the film and now we got a glimpse at one of them. During the Saturn awards ceremony, Jason Mewes, who portrays Jay in the movie, showed a short clip from it, revealing the part that Supergirl star Melissa Benoist will play on it.
The clip shows the protagonists, Jay and Silent Bob, watching the movie based on their likeness Chronic and Bluntman. The clip shows Benoist’s character portraying Jay based Chronic in the film within a film in a scene which brings her face to face with Silent Bob based Bluntman played by Val Kilmer. Also shown in the scene is Tommy Chong who played a stoned version of the faithful Alfred.
The scene is a clear spoof of a Batmen V Superman: Dawn of Justice, where the two popular superheroes face each other in the fanbase’s dream come to life scene. Bluntman even uses a… similar… grenade to the kryptonite Batman has used in the original movie.
Along with Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes, the cast of the movie will include Shannon Elizabeth, Jason Lee, Donnell Rawlings, Joey Lauren Adams, and numerous other stars. It is set to be released on October 15.
