In the January issue of The Cosmopolitan, former “World of Dance” actress Jenna Dewan went into detail about how she handled her breakup with actor Channing Tatum.

“I didn’t run from my feelings. I let myself cry,” Dewan said. “I let myself cry. I let myself grieve. This is one of those situations where I will see the light. The dawn is coming.”

The 38-year-old actress made the confession months after she split with her husband of nine years. In her interview, Dewan acknowledges that a large section of her fans believe her identity is intrinsically tied to the actor.

“I’m obviously super aware that people know me. They know Channing, they know us together,” Dewan revealed. “We’d been a beloved couple for a long time. I was in Berlin and people were like, ‘We love your ‘Lip Sync Battle!’ ‘I was like, oh my god. You mean the time when I humped my husband at the time’s face? I’m so glad that’s my calling card.”

Of course, the 38-year-old was being sarcastic but she was pointing out how some fans tend to overlook her achievements because of the man she was married to. She also addressed the misconception that her relationship with Tatum was perfect.

“When people say you guys have such a perfect life, I want to tell them no one’s perfect,” Dewan told Health Magazine. “I think there are such things as great fits. It is a great fit as long as you are growing together, and I think up until this point we’ve really grown together.”
