We can count on A24 to knock us off our feet with each of their movies, and their upcoming drama Death of a Unicorn is truly top-tier. Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd will lead the cast of this promising project, which also includes Richard E. Grant, Téa Leoni, and Will Poulter.
Death of a Unicorn marks Alex Scharfman’s directorial debut, and its plot is truly as wild as it gets. Paul and Ortega will star as a father-daughter duo who accidentally hit and kill a unicorn on their way to a corporate weekend retreat.
To make the whole thing even worse, the billionaire boss of Ortega’s character is desperately looking for the magnificent creature because he wants to exploit its miraculous curative properties. Grant plays the billionaire, while the rest of the supporting cast includes Téa Leoni (Flirting with Disaster), Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Anthony Carrigan (Barry), Sunita Mani (GLOW), Jessica Hynes (Shaun of the Dead), and Stephen Park (Asteroid City).
Rumors about this project have been circling around for months, and A24 finally confirmed it wrapped up production after shooting under a SAG-AFTRA interim agreement. They’ll be in charge of globally distributing this project after co-financing it alongside Ley Line Entertainment.
