Jennifer Lopez received some of the best reviews of her acting career for her role in Hustlers, and many people felt her performance was worthy of an Academy Award. Unfortunately, she didn’t even receive a nomination, and she’s finally ready to speak up about this snub.

Lopez opened up about her failure to score an Oscar nod while being interviewed by Oprah Winfrey during the 2020 Vision: Your Life In Focus Tour and admitted that it felt like a little bit of a letdown.

“I was sad, I was a little sad because there was a lot of buildup to it… Also, I felt like my whole team – most of my team has been with me for years, 20, 25 years – and I think they had a lot of hopes on that and they wanted it too, so I felt like I let everyone down a little bit,” explained J.Lo.

Jennifer Lopez still received a lot of praise and numerous other nominations for her supporting role in Hustlers – including Golden Globe and Indie Spirit nods.

The lack of Oscar nomination didn’t hurt her career one bit, and she showcased her talent in front of the whole nation only a week before the ceremony with her explosive Super Bowl halftime show performance.
