A few weeks ago, Jennifer Lopez announced the release of her new album This Is Me… Now and she just spilled the beans about one of the songs from this record. “Hummingbird” will be one of the album’s most personal tracks, and it’s inspired by the singer’s blended-family Christmas celebration with her husband Ben Affleck.
The singer shared details about this song On the JLo newsletter, where she explained what hummingbirds mean to her. She described them as messengers of love and said she identifies with them and sees them as a sign from God that everything is going to be ok.
She also explained the connection between hummingbirds and her recent Christmas celebration, the first time she celebrated this holiday with her husband Affleck and their blended family.
“I wanted to have a tree in the house that was a hummingbird tree, reminding us that everything done in love and with love will always be OK. We have blended families, doubled the people, doubled the fun, doubled the love, doubled the presents, and tripled the chaos!” wrote Lopez.
This Is Me… Now is the singer’s first album in nine years and it will mark the 20th anniversary of its spiritual predecessor This Is Me… Then.
