Jerry O’Connell is joining the cast of The Big Bang Theory as Sheldon’s big brother Georgie. This was revealed by show’s producers during Wednesday’s panel for The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon at PaleyFest. Georgie was mentioned by Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory on multiple occasions, but we never got to see him in person. We had a chance to meet his younger version in the spinoff Young Sheldon, where the character is portrayed by Montana Jordan.

The producers revealed that we will get to meet the grownup version of Georgie during the final episode of season 11 which will feature Sheldon and Amy’s wedding. Laurie Metcalf will also reprise her role of Sheldon’s mother Mary and will be the one to walk Sheldon down the aisle. It wasn’t revealed whether his sister Missy or his beloved Meemaw (grandmother Constance) will be attending the wedding as well.

Although the finale of season 11 wasn’t written yet, the producers promised that few pre-wedding traditions will be there including unconventional bachelor and bachelorette parties.
“They don’t go the way you think they would go,” added Kaley Cuoco (Penny).

The Big Bang Theory has been officially renewed for season 12 in March 2017, with a strong chance that more seasons could follow. CBS’ boss Leslie Moonves recently spoke about the future of the series saying that he hopes it will end up having more than 12 seasons.

“I hope it goes beyond that” Moonves said. “In my book, Everybody Loves Raymond left three years too early. You want to leave on top, but you also don’t want to leave money on the table.”
