Jesse Palmer will be the new host of ABC’s The Bachelor. He’ll be replacing longtime host Chris Harrison.

The TV broadcaster and former NFL quarterback starred as The Bachelor back in Season 5 in 2004.

Palmer has been working with The Walt Disney Company for a while as a sports commentator on ESPN and a former contributor on Good Morning America. Currently, he’s hosting ABC’s summer series The Ultimate Surfer, and in the past he hosted the network’s reality series The Proposal. He’s also hosted ABC’s Disney Parks’holiday specials and ABC’s presentation of the NFL Draft.

“For more than 20 years, The Bachelor has brought the world dozens of unforgettable love stories, including at one time, my own,” Palmer said in a statement via Variety. “Falling in love is one of life’s greatest gifts, and I am humbled by the opportunity to return to the show as host this season to offer the newest Bachelor advice gained from firsthand experience and I am grateful to play a small part in his journey.”

Palmer is signed on for Season 26, which will air in 2022. According to insiders, the idea is for him to host the franchise in the future.

The next season of The Bachelorette will be hosted by Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe, the former stars of The Bachelorette, and it premieres next month. They co-hosted the most recent season of the show.
