From the operating theater to the actual theater!

Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams is making his Broadway debut with the role of Darren Lemmin in the Take Me Out revival.

The 2002 work by Richard Greenberg is set to debut again next year under the direction of Scott Ellis at Second Stage’s Hayes Theater in New York. It will officially open its doors on April 23.

According to Entertainment Tonight, the story follows Lemming, “the star center fielder for the Empires who comes out of the closet and must deal with the reception he receives off the field after it reveals a barrage of long-held unspoken prejudices.”

Williams plays Dr. Jackson Avery on Grey’s. The ABC medical drama was recently renewed for two additional seasons.
