The Marrakech International Film Festival will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, and its jury is shaping up to be amazing. The Oscar-winning actress Jessica Chastain will be in charge of presiding over the jury in Marrakech when the festival returns later this fall.

Chastain confirmed her participation in an official statement and said it’s an honor to serve as the jury president of the 20th edition of the esteemed Marrakech International Film Festival.

“I am excited to return to the festival having last attended in 2011. Being entrusted with this role is a privilege and I look forward to celebrating incredible global talent within the world of cinema,” said Chastain.

This year’s Marrakech Film Festival Jury schedule was pretty packed long before Chastain hopped on board. Martin Scorsese, who presided over the jury in 2013, will return to Marrakech as the official patron of the Atlas Workshops, which supports a new generation of Moroccan, Arab, and African filmmakers.

The Marrakech International Film Festival is one of Morocco’s most cherished cultural events, and it’s set to return between November 24 and December 2. Unlike most major film festivals of its caliber, the one in Marrakech is open to the public and free to attend.
