Fans of American Horror Story are probably popping champagne as we speak and for a very good reason. Living legend Jessica Lange finally accepted the invitation to return to the hit anthology series in the new chapter Apocalypse.

The upcoming season is a highly anticipated crossover between Murder House and Coven. Sarah Paulson confirmed her former co-star is returning as Constance Langdon, cunning and cruel next-door neighbor of the Harmon family. The last time we’ve seen her, she was taking care of her grandson Michael, who’s actually a human manifestation of Anti-Christ.

This story-line will obviously come into play, especially since executive producer Alexis Martin Woodall mentioned new season “begins with the end of the world.”  Will satanic child Michael Langdon be the one reason of the titular apocalypse? It seems so, but let’s not make any assumptions just yet.

There was a lot of excitement surrounding the new season even before Jessica Lange announced her return. Her comeback makes everything 100% better since she brought gravitas to each of her American Horror Story characters. Lange hasn’t be seen on these shores since Season 4, when she wowed us as freak show manager Elsa Mars.

Apocalypse also stars AHS veterans Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters and Emma Roberts. The first episode will air on September 12.
