Joel McHale and Kerry Bishé in "Happily"

The dark romantic comedy Happily starring Joel McHale has released its first trailer.

The film centers on a married couple (Joel McHale and Kerry Bishé) who have been together for 14 years. Over the course of their relationship, their honeymoon phase never ended and they’re still very much in love. They start to question their friends’ loyalty after learning that they’re resentful of their public display of affection. Then a mysterious stranger visits them and puts them into an existential crisis that leads to a dead body, lots of questions, and a tense couples’ vacation with their friends who they aren’t sure are actually their friends.

Also starring in the series are Stephen Root, Paul Scheer, Breckin Meyer, Natalie Zea, and Natalie Morales.

Happily was directed by first-time filmmaker BenDavid Grabinski who served as writer and executive producer on the reboot of the series Are You Afraid of the Dark? Jack Black, Spencer Berman, Nancy Leopardi, and Ross Kohn produced the film. Chuckie Duff, David Green, and Kyle Newman executive produced.

Happily is set to be released in theaters, on digital, and on-demand on March 19.
