John Boyega recently ended his Star Wars journey, and he’s getting ready for new adventures. The British actor will team up with Netflix in an attempt to develop a series of non-English movies about Africa via his production company UpperRoom.

Boyega’s company was founded back in 2016, and he’s looking forward to this slate of new projects, that will shine a light on the rich heritage of several countries on the African continent.

“I am thrilled to partner with Netflix to develop a slate of non-English language feature films focused on African stories, and my team and I are excited to develop original material. We are proud to grow this arm of our business with a company that shares our vision,” said the actor in an official statement.

David Kosse, vice president of international film at Netflix, echoed Boyega’s statement and said they see this collaboration as an opportunity to bring unique African stories to viewers in Africa and around the world.
