The Fast & Furious franchise has just tapped some major muscle for its upcoming installment.
After officially announcing that Dwayne Johnson aka the Rock will not be returning for the ninth installment of the action franchise, we now have a new house-size professional wrestler to take over.
Multiple outlets officially confirm what was essentially teased by franchise star Vin Diesel back in April — John Cena joined the cast of Fast & Furious 9.
Details of Cena’s character are being kept under wraps, however, in his original post Diesel did say to expect “a badass.”
The feature will be directed by four-time franchisehelmer Justin Lin for a screenplay by Dan Casey. Production is set to begin next month for a Spring 2020 premiere.
