Guitarist John Frusciante is set to return to the Red Hot Chili Peppers after ten years.

The band confirmed that it is getting back together after a decade-long separation via Instagram Monday.

The band announced that it is “parting ways” with Josh Klinghoffer, who replaced Frusciante when he left back in 2009. They continued written that “with great excitement and full hearts, that John Frusciante is rejoining our group.”

Frusciante first joined the musical gang at 18 years old in 1988, replacing Hillel Slovak. He then left the band in 1992, in the middle of a tour, due to a battle with drug abuse. He then rejoined them a second time six years later.

Frusciante was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012. He has released twelve solo albums, seven EPs, and collaborated with various artists.
