John Wick surprisingly became one of the most critically acclaimed and successful action franchises of the decade, and it’s expanding as we speak. The beloved movie series starring Keanu Reeves will soon get a female-centric spinoff titled Ballerina.
This promising project will focus on a young female assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum actually featured a character under the name Ballerina, played by Unity Phelan, but it’s still unclear if she’ll be the titular star of the spinoff.
This promising project already found its director in Len Wiseman, whose previous credits include Total Recall and Underworld. He’s also attached to the upcoming Sin City TV series and the new Die Hard movie titled McClane.
Ballerina isn’t the only movie in John Wick franchise we’re looking forward to right now. The titular assassin will continue his adventures in a fourth movie, set to be released in 2021, with Keanu Reeves returning to the lead role once again.
