John Wick: Chapter 4 has been ruling the theaters for two months and it helped its mothership franchise set a major box office milestone. Powered by the strong performance of the latest film in this series, the Keanu Reeves-fronted franchise crossed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is the highest-grossing film in this series, and it’s largely responsible for its overall box office success. Since its premiere on March 24, this film grossed a worldwide total of $426.2 million, including $184 million domestically and $242.2 million overseas, to become the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2023 so far.

This number is quite mind-blowing considering that the original John Wick grossed $87.8 million worldwide, followed by $171.54 million earned by John Wick: Chapter 2 and $326.7 million for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake praised the team behind this franchise for crossing the $1 billion mark and said they could not be more grateful to global moviegoers for bringing them to this incredible achievement.

“This milestone is a testament to the incredible work of Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves, alongside Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee, who have made it their mission to outdo themselves with each successive film in this franchise,” said Drake in a statement.
