John Wick’s TV Series, “The Continental” May Go On Air Next Year

Keanu Reeves in "John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum"

Since the first John Wick film was released, back in 2014, it has become quite profitable for Lionsgate and a spin-off TV series has already been announced in 2018. There isn’t much information about the show floating around but now at least we have some idea of when it will go on air.

Starz President and CEO Jeffrey Hirsch revealed at the recent Television Critics Association event that the series will be released sometime after John Wick: Chapter 4 will hit the theaters. According to Hirsch, the decision was made that way to make sure it doesn’t affect the film. He also said that he is confident in the show’s writers after a pitch meeting about the pilot.

The show will be called The Continental, and although John Wick may make some appearances, it will focus on the hotel that appeared in the films. Up until now, there haven’t been any casting or crew announcements.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is coming out in May 2021. It may be the last entry in the franchise movie-wise. The film series is getting a spin-off though: Ballerina, which will be directed by Len Wiseman.
