Black Panther may be launching into the US’s list of highest-grossing films, but the King of Wakanda has been overthrown in the music charts.

The soundtrack for the superhero film (called Black Panther: The Album) was produced by Kendrick Lamar and features the rapper himself, as well as songs by The Weeknd, Travis Scott, and Future.

After spending 3 weeks on the Billboard 200 charts, and 2 sitting comfortably in the number 1 position, the album has now been demoted to 2nd spot.

You would have thought that selling 99,000 copies in a week would be enough to keep you in peak position!

And yet, an artist from the past has returned (this is sounding very much like the film…), to claim the Billboard throne. Jon Bon Jovi’s 13th studio album, This House is Not for Sale, originally made its first place debut in November 2016, before making its way down the charts.

Now, in anticipation of Jon’s upcoming tour which kicks off on the 14th of March, the album has returned to #1 with 120,000 sales.

Not bad for livin’ on a prayer.
