Taylor Sheridan’s next Paramount+ drama Landman kicked off production in Texas, and another A-list star will be a part of its ensemble cast. Jon Hamm will star opposite Billy Bob Thornton in this highly-anticipated series, set in the boomtowns of West Texas.

Based on the hit podcast Boomtown, this series has been described as “an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.”

Thornton will lead the series in the role of Tommy Norris, a crisis manager for the oil company, and he’ll be joined by Hamm as Monty Miller, a titan of the Texas oil industry who has a long personal and professional relationship with Norris.

Demi Moore is also among the latest stars to join the cast, and her character has been described as the wife to one of the most powerful oilmen in Texas. The supporting cast will also include James Jordan (Yellowstone), Michelle Randolph (1923), Ali Larter (The Rookie), Jacob Lofland (Maze Runner), Mark Collie (Nashville), Paulina Chávez (The Long Game), and Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart).

Landman is currently filming in and around Fort Worth, Texas, and it hails from creators, writers, and executive producers Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace.
