Get Out director Jordan Peele is expanding his reach in the streaming service realm with his newest project. It was announced on Tuesday that Peele will bring sci-fi anthology series Weird City to YouTube Premium.

Co-created and co-written by Jordan Peele and Charlie Sanders, the series will be “set in the not-too-distant future metropolis of Weird,” and each of the episodes will be exploring “issues that pertain to present day life” and telling “stories that could only be told now through the prism of sci-fi and comedy.” The initial order for Weird City is worth six-episodes which will premiere at some point in 2019.

“Writer/creator Charlie Sanders and I collaborated on some Key & Peele sketches that took on everything from the ‘Black Republicans’ to ‘Continental Breakfasts’ to ‘Family Matters,'” –said Peele in a statement. “Now, with YouTube, we present a series of comedy-driven twisted science fiction stories that take place in a world close to ours but just a little bit off.”

“We are thrilled to be in business with Jordan, Charlie, and Jose, who have brilliantly created a highly entertaining satire that will be a timely send-up of modern society,” – added YouTube content chief Susanne Daniels. “We are excited to partner with Sonar Entertainment and all of the innovative storytellers behind Weird City to push boundaries and redefine what a comedy series can be.”

Weird City isn’t the only recent television project for Jordan Peele. He is also working on a documentary series titled Lorena and Nazi drama The Hunt for Amazon Studios. There is also Twilight Zone reboot, a project he is bringing to CBS All Access alongside Simon Kinberg (Sherlock Holmes) and Marco Ramirez (The Defenders).
