Amazon is currently plotting the adaptation of Jo Nesbø’s short story The Jealousy Man, and its cast is as amazing as it gets. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, and Richard Madden will star in this murder mystery Killer Heat, with Philippe Lacôte coming on board to direct.
Killer Heat centers on twin brothers (Madden) who find themselves caught in a violent love triangle on a remote Greek island. A damaged detective known as “The Jealousy Man” (Gordon-Levitt) is called in to investigate after one of them is suspected of murdering another.
The production will kick off next month in Crete, with the Night of the Kings filmmaker Philippe Lacôte serving as a director. Roberto Bentivegna (House of Gucci) wrote the script, while the Oscar-nominated screenwriter Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) did the revisions.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt has several more projects in development right now, and we’ll soon get to see him in the musical dramedy Flora and Son and another murder mystery Providence. Shailene Woodley will lead Showtime’s Three Women, in addition to starring in Dumb Money, Ferrari, and To Catch a Killer later this year. As for Richard Madden, he will soon appear in Amazon’s sci-fi action series Citadel alongside Priyanka Chopra.
