Josh Brolin will play the lead part in Amazon’s Outer Range and executive produce it alongside Brad Pitt.

This is the first major role on TV for the oscar-nominated actor since he appeared in ABC’s The Young Riders at the end of the 1980s and beginning of the 1990s. The former Avengers villain is gearing up for a busy year as he will also be seen in Sean Penn’s Flag Day and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune. In addition, we will see him return to the part of Cable in X-Force, a spinoff for Deadpool. Brolin is also slated to reprise his role as Thanos in an animated Marvel’s What If?… series when it streams on Disney+ in 2021.

Outer Range will follow Brolin as Royal Abbott — a rancher who comes across a mystery on his land in Wyoming. It is created by Brian Watkins and will be executive produced by Brad Pitt via Plan B Entertainment, Lethal Weapon’s Zev Borow and Frozen River’s Heather Rae alongside Brolin and Walkins. Plan B has recently signed a TV deal with Amazon. It is also behind the streamer’s upcoming event series, The Underground Railroad, directed by Moonlight’s Barry Jenkins.
