If you’re a huge fan of Netflix shows with a cozy feel, such as Virgin River and Firefly Lane, you’ll be happy to hear there’s another one on the way. Jodi Thomas’ Ransom Canyon book series is getting its TV adaptation, led by Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly.

This project has been in development for quite some time, and Jinny Howe, Netflix’s head of drama, previously described it as a multi-generational family show set on a ranch, that offers a perfect mix between Virgin River and Yellowstone.

“It’s a contemporary Western romance show, just looking for more in this comfort romance space. We think that it’s going to deliver on all the romance and again it will be a really beautiful vista and setting, very escapist,” she told Deadline in 2022.

April Blair (Wednesday, All American) will serve as the writer, creator, and executive producer of this romance drama, which will center on three ranching families living against the sweeping tundras and rolling rivers of Texas hill country.

The Transformers star Josh Duhamel is no stranger to the romance genre, and he most recently starred in the action rom-com Shotgun Wedding alongside Jennifer Lopez. As for Minka Kelly, she recently played a supporting role in Euphoria and topped the New York Times bestseller list with her memoir Tell Me Everything.
