The American version of the British comedy Motherland is one the way, and its cast will be as amazing as it gets. Judy Greer will star opposite Ellie Kemper in the comedy pilot for this series, being developed by ABC under the working title Drop-Off.

Drop-Off will center on a working mother Julia (Kemper), as she tries to balance work and parenting with the help of Calvin (Karan Soni) and Liz. Her character has been described as “a working mom for whom nothing is working, so she goes looking for her village.”

As for Greer’s character Amanda, she’s “hyper-confident, uber-organized” and “one of the terrifyingly together’ moms who runs the inner circle at Julia’s kids’ school.” She’s the one who usually arranges babysitting swaps with the moms during school vacations, but things go terribly wrong after she arranges a swap with Julia.

Greer recently played one of the lead roles on Hulu’s comedy series Reboot, which was canceled after a single season. We’ll soon get to see her in HBO’s mini-series White House Plumbers, and she’s also attached to several films set to come out later this year, including Halfway to Somewhere, Flint Strong, Mabel, and Eric Larue.
