Mark Twain once said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”

And we dare say that Julia Louis-Dreyfus knows why.

The Veep actress will be honoured with the Kennedy Centre’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humour.

The award celebrates individuals who “have had an impact on American society in ways similar to the distinguished 19th Century novelist and essayist Samuel Clemens, best known as Mark Twain,” according to the Centre.

Comedian Richard Pryor received the first prize in 1998, while last year’s recipient was David Letterman.

Several stars of comedy will salute Julia at gala dinner in her honour including the 57-year-old’s former co-star Jerry Seinfeld, Stephen Colbert, Bryan Cranston, and previous winner Tina Fey.

The laughs will be broadcast on the 9th of November.
