Dozens of Hollywood stars revived their careers with challenging TV roles and Julia Roberts is next in line. She’s ready to get some small screen action with her promising new project Homecoming. The first trailer for this mind-bending psychological thriller just dropped, and it’s as creepy as they come.

Roberts will portray Heidi Bergman, who used to be a caseworker for a secret government organization helping soldiers return to their civilian lives. Four years later, Heidi decides to quit and tries to start a new life. She moves in with her mom, gets a job as a waitress and quickly learns new beginnings aren’t easy. Her past comes back to haunt her when she starts being questioned about reasons why she left her government job.

Homecoming is a TV adaptation of a fictional podcast of the same name, created by Eli Horowitz and Micah Bloomberg. Sam Esmail will serve as showrunner, director, and executive produce, so we’re sure Heidi’s story is in safe hands. It’s right up his alley since he already proved to be capable of creating a creepy atmosphere with Mr. Robot. Homecoming will premiere on November 2 on Amazon Video and it also stars Stephan James, Bobby Cannavale, and Shea Whigham.
