Julie Andrews will be coming to the cinema these holidays, but not in the feature you’d expect.

Entertainment Weekly confirms that the Oscar-winning actress has joined Aquaman from DC Films and Warner Bros.

Andrews has been tapped to voice star in the movie, voicing a key role. She will star as Karathen, a mythical sea creature that holds the key to assist Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) broker peace between Atlantis and the dry land.

“We wanted the Karathen to have the voice of a classic British actress, albeit somewhat digitally altered,” Peter Safran, a producer on Aquaman, told the magazine Entertainment Weekly, who first broke the news. “And when we found out Julie was interested and available and excited to do it, casting her was a no-brainer,” he said.

Aquaman hits theaters on December 21, just two days before the release of the Mary Poppins sequel Mary Poppins Returns. While Andrews played the iconic Poppins in the 1964 Disney original, in the sequel it is Emily Blunt who took on the lead role.

Andrews other voice star credits include animated blockbusters series like Shrek and Despicable Me.
