Justin Bieber is no stranger to emotional music videos, but there’s something that sets his latest one apart. The heartbreaking video for his new single “Ghost” sees him joining forces with the Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton, who plays his recently widowed grandmother.

The video opens on the death of Bieber’s grandfather and shows him trying to cope with the loss and rediscover the joy of life alongside his grandma. They go on long walks on the beach, dancing and drinking at the bar, and the singer even opens a dating profile for her and encourages her to find love again.

The Oscar-winning star of Annie Hall discussed her collaboration with the Canadian pop star in an interview with Vogue. Bieber handpicked to play his grandma, and she immediately accepted his request and enjoyed every step of the filming process because it was completely natural.

“This was just sheer fun. All my life, I’ve been an actress and had lines, and sometimes I’ve gotten to loosen them up a little—but this was just completely loose and relaxed. Nobody ever [told me to do] anything, which made it so much fun,” Keaton told Vogue.
