Hot on the heels of success in the HBO Max series The Flight Attendant, Kaley Cuoco is getting ready for another major, career-defining role. She’s recently been cast as the lead in Warner Bros TV’s limited series about Hollywood icon Doris Day.

This project will be based on A.E. Hotchner’s biography Doris Day: Her Own Story, which consisted of a series of interviews with the legendary actress, singer, and animal rights activist. Day started her rise to fame during the Golden Age of Hollywood and became a household name thanks to the Oscar-nominated role in Pillow Talk, several no. 1 hit songs, and the popular sitcom The Doris Day Show.

Cuoco’s casting comes shortly after she received critical acclaim for her lead role in the crime comedy The Flight Attendant. Her performance earned her nominations for several major awards, including a Golden Globe award, a SAG Award, and a Critics’ Choice Television Award.

Cuoco is currently attached to several more projects, including the animated series Harley Quinn. She’s also set to appear in action-comedy The Man from Toronto along with Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson later this year.
