Kate Hudson will be joining Season 2 of the Apple drama series Truth Be Told in her first regular television role.

Created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman and produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, Chernin Entertainment, and Endeavor Content, Truth Be Told is quasi-anthology series where there’s a central protagonist(s) who carries over as each season tells the story of different characters. Season 2 will tell America’s obsession with true crime podcasts.

Hudson will star alongside series lead Octavia Spencer who plays Poppy Parnell, a true-crime podcaster. Hudson will play Micah Keith, a lifestyle guru and longtime friend of Poppy’s. The two work on a new case that involves them and puts their relationship to the test.

Production on Season 2 is set to start October 26.

Hudson, a Golden Globe winner, is known for her roles in Almost Famous, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Deepwater Horizon, Marshall, and The Skeleton Key. The actress previously had a guest-starring role on Glee.
