Many fan favorites won’t be around when Grey’s Anatomy returns for Season 18, but one of them decided to make a triumphant return. Kate Walsh is gearing up for a comeback, and her character Addison Montgomery will get a multi-episode arc.

Walsh shared the amazing news on the official Twitter page of Grey’s Anatomy, and she can’t wait to reunite with her old gang on the set of Season 18.

“Well, well, well, would you look who it is. That’s right, my loves, Dr. Addison Montgomery is coming back to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and I’m so excited to be home again joining Shonda [Rhimes], Ellen [Pompeo], and the rest of the incredible cast,” the actress said in the video.

Walsh made her Grey’s Anatomy debut during the Season 1 finale when she was introduced as Derek Shepherd’s estranged wife. She went on to become one of the MVPs of the beloved medical drama, and quickly got her own spin-off series. During the third season of Grey’s Anatomy, Rhimes built a new series around her character, titled Private Practice, which saw her moving to LA to start a new chapter in her life. The series became a huge hit and it stayed on the air for six seasons.
