The Grey’s Anatomy alumna has joined the multi-camera pilot Our House.

Katherine Heigl has been tapped to lead the forthcoming family comedy from CBS. She’ll star opposite the previously cast Malcolm Barrett.

According to Deadline, the half-hour comedy centers on a devoted dad (Barrett) and mom (Heigl), who are committed to raising their children with the love and support that mom never got. But then the two discover just how difficult that is going to be with her insane parents and siblings back in the picture.

Heigl’s character is described as “as someone who tries her best to be a laid-back, progressive parent like her therapist husband, but often finds herself reverting to the old-school style of her parents. Now that she’s moved back into her childhood home, surrounded by her parents and crazy siblings, finding a balance between the wildly different parenting styles is going to be more difficult than she imagined.”

The series was penned by Brendan O’Brien. Directing the pilot is James Burrows. Heigl also will serve as an executive producer on the project.

You can currently see Heigl on USA Network’s Suits.
