It’s been a while since Katy Perry surprised us with new music, and it finally seems she’s gearing up for an epic comeback. The pop superstar is reportedly planning to drop a new album in 2024, and she’s plotting a world tour to go with its release.

A source close to the singer told The Sun she’s planning a big comeback in 2024 when she’ll release her “most personal” album yet. This album will be quite different from anything she has released before, and Perry is planning to take it on the road by the end of next year.

Perry previously told Good Morning America that he’s writing a lot of new music “from a place of love”, but she’s not in a rush to share it with the world.

“I’m always writing, I have been, but I think what’s really important to me is to be celebrating the world that I’ve got to build with all of these wonderful songs and to be responsible for a life for a three-year-old. I will be back, but let me get this right,” she explained.

Perry hasn’t released any new music in 2023, but this year has been pretty eventful, nevertheless. She performed at the Coronation Concert of Charles III this spring, returned to Las Vegas for several more legs of her Play concert residency, and sold her music catalog to Litmus Music for an estimated $225 million.
