After weeks of speculations about the potential lineup at the King’s Coronation Concert, we finally know who’ll grace the stage at this royal event. Lionel Richie and Katy Perry will be in charge of headlining the coronation concert in honor of King Charles.

In addition to Richie and Perry, the lineup will also include the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, and the British pop group Take That, but without Robbie Williams. British musicians Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, and Alexis Ffrench will also join them on stage.

Even though Perry and Richie, who currently both serve as judges on American Idol, don’t hail from the UK, their inclusion at this event doesn’t come as a huge shocker. In addition to knowing King Charles for years, Perry has served as an ambassador of his charity The British Asian Trust, while Richie was appointed the first chairman of the Global Ambassador Group for The Prince’s Trust in 2019.

According to BBC’s official statement, “The concert will celebrate a new chapter in the nation’s history, with themes of love, respect, and optimism, celebrating the four nations, their communities, and the Commonwealth.” It will be held on the grounds of Windsor Castle on May 7.
