Katy Perry’s new album is coming in less than a month, and she gave us a taste of what’s coming with a colorful music video for the title track “Smile”.
This playful video comes only a few days after the singer dropped the lyric video for the same track. Perry can be seen rocking a clown outfit throughout the video, as she dances on an enormous chair, balances on her own teeth, and holds a huge bouquet of balloons with her initials.
“Smile” perfectly captures the vibe of her upcoming album of the same name, and she’s hoping it will make her fans energized and hopeful.
“I wrote the title track from the album when I was coming through one of the darkest periods of my life and had lost my smile. This whole album is my journey towards the light—with stories of resilience, hope, and love,” wrote Perry on Instagram.
The singer’s upcoming studio album is set to be released on August 14th, and it will also feature singles “Never Really Over”, “Harleys in Hawaii”, and “Daisies”.
