Lionsgate will launch sales for their new movie Good Fortune in Cannes next month and the creative team behind it looks pretty impressive. Aziz Ansari will make his feature directorial debut with this project, and he’ll play one of the lead roles alongside Keanu Reeves and Seth Rogen.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Joe Drake said they moved quickly to land the rights for this project once it became available after being impressed by the A-list talent involved.

“We love the script and believe strongly in Aziz as both a performer and a director. And when you add in Seth and Keanu – two incredible world-class talents — toplining alongside Aziz, this has the potential to be a very special film for us,” reads Drake’s statement.

The storyline is being kept under wraps, but we’ll probably learn more before Good Fortune starts shooting in LA next month. It will mark Aziz Ansari’s feature film debut, after his previous attempt at directing, Being Mortal starring Bill Murray and Keke Palmer, was canceled by Searchlight back in February.

Reeves and Lionsgate go a way back, and he currently stars in their box office hit John Wick: Chapter 4. As for Rogen, he most recently voiced Donkey Kong in The Super Mario Bros. and we’ll soon get to see him in Craig Gillespie’s Dumb Money and Apple TV+ series Platonic.
