We’ve seen Keira Knightley star in some pretty interesting projects in recent years, and she has another one on the way. The British actress will reunite with Camille Griffin in the upcoming dystopian sci-fi thriller Conception.

The official synopsis describes Conception as “a sci-fi thriller set in the not-too-distant future of Britain, where the government has taken authoritarian rule over parenting.” Knightley will play Rita, a loyal civil servant to this system until she falls victim to the same laws she so readily inflicted on others.

Conception will reunite Knightley with Camille Griffin, who previously served as writer and director of the apocalyptic black comedy film Silent Night. Griffin said she likes to have found Knightley because she’s a great ally and added they’re planning to make a unique and exciting film together.

Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler are coming on board as producers for Maven Screen Media, while Fortitude is financing the film and launching international sales at the upcoming American Film Market.

Knightley most recently starred in Hulu’s true crime drama Boston Strangler, where she played Loretta McLaughlin, the brave reporter who broke the news about the sinister serial killer who murdered 13 women in Boston during the ’60s.
