It was quite a shocker to see Kelly Clarkson leave The Voice, and if you were looking forward to her return, we’ve got some bad news for you. The American Idol winner is not planning The Voice comeback after moving to New York, and she’s putting her full focus into her talk show.

Clarkson decided to move her talk show from Los Angeles to New York City so she could be closer to her family, but she had to leave some things behind along the way. Her coaching position on The Voice was one of them, and she has no regrets about this decision.

“I’ve learned a lot about what I’m capable of handling, and also what you should not handle. That was me saying ‘bye’ to The Voice and having this big move. I love that family, but I was like, ‘I’m struggling. I can’t smile anymore. I don’t feel like smiling,’” Clarkson told USA Today.

Clarkson and The Voice go a long way, and she served as one of the show’s official coaches between Season 14 and Season 21, before taking a short break and returning for Season 23. She left the show ahead of the ongoing Season 24, with Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Reba McEntire serving as coaches.
