Kelly Clarkson’s new album Chemistry is coming our way “really soon” and she found a perfect way to celebrate its release. The Grammy-winning singer is getting ready to embark on a ten-night Las Vegas residency in support of her new album.

Clarkson teased Chemistry on social media and said she opted for the title Chemistry because she was looking for a single word that perfectly describes what this album is all about.

Chemistry was written over the course of the past three years, in the wake of Clarkson’s divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The lyrics were inspired by her emotional journey and she didn’t want them to convey a single emotion, but an entire relationship.

“There are definitely songs that are devastating and songs that are very angry. And then there are songs that are super sad, and ones that are more se-y, like that first feeling that you get in a relationship. It covers the whole arc of an entire relationship from beginning to end,” Clarkson told Billboard.

Chemistry still doesn’t have an official release date, but it’s safe to expect it will hit the shelves this spring or summer. The singer will get a chance to promote it live during Chemistry: An Intimate Evening with Kelly Clarkson, a ten-night Las Vegas residency taking place between July 28 to August 19 at the Bakkt Theater.
