After spending several years away from the public, it looks like Kelly Clarkson is ready to take over the television. Besides landing a coaching gig at the NBC’s reality singing competition show The Voice, the 36-year-old singer is also preparing to debut her own daytime talk show at the same network.

NBC announced that The Kelly Clarkson Show is set to debut in fall of 2019, and will serve as a lead-in to Ellen, replacing Steve Harvey’s show Steve. This comes only two months after Clarkson filmed a pilot for her daytime talk show and offered it to the highest bidder.

“I love connecting with people, playing games, music and finding ways to help or give back to communities/organizations,” said Clarkson about the show. “Having my own talk show where I get to do all of these things is pretty much a dream job!”

The show is being described as a “weekday brunch party,” featuring celebrity guests that didn’t meet before alongside “surprises, humor, heart, music and remarkable stories.”

“We are very excited to have Kelly Clarkson on our air next fall,” – said Valari Staab, president of NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations in a statement. “She’s genuine, warm, fun and interacts with her fans in a meaningful way. Throughout her career people of all ages and backgrounds have related to her openness, honesty, and curiosity. She will be the perfect companion to Ellen, providing an afternoon of great television.”

With all of these preoccupations, you have to wonder whether Kelly Clarkson finds any time to focus on her music. As it turns out, she has that covered as well. Clarkson recently announced that she will tour in early 2019 in support of her latest studio album Meaning of Life. The former American Idol winner will do 28 live shows across the United States during the tour, with Kelsea Ballerini and Brynn Cartelli serving as her opening acts.
