Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell gave us one of the most beloved Nickelodeon movies of the late ’90s with Good Burger, and they’re ready to cook up another batch. Paramount+ is plotting the sequel to the iconic Nickelodeon comedy, and the leading duo will be reprising their roles from the original.

Good Burger drew inspiration from the sketch of the same name on the Nickelodeon series All That. It became a such fan favorite that the network developed a whole movie that centered on two teens trying to keep an old burger joint afloat after a brand-new burger restaurant opens its doors across the street.

In the upcoming sequel, Thompson’s Dex is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails, and he asks Mitchell’s Ed for his job back. He joins a new crew at Good Burger and his plan to get back on his feet puts the future of this fast food joint at risk.

Thompson said he’s proud to be “a part of something so many generations of people have come to love”, adding he can’t wait to show the fans what these characters have been up to since we last saw them. Mitchell echoed his statement, saying “it’s super awesome to come back and continue the stories of Dex, Ed, and Good Burger for both the people who grew up watching and their kids.”
