Kerry Washington dipped her toes in the world of TV comedy with Hulu’s UnPrisoned, and its next chapter is just around the corner. This critically acclaimed dramedy has officially been renewed for its second season by Hulu and Onyx Collective.

Created by Tracy McMillan, this series centers on a family and marriage therapist Paige, who sometimes struggles to take her own advice. Her personal life is anything but perfect, and it gets even messier when her father is released from prison and asks to move in with Paige and her teenage son.

In addition to Washington, Delroy Lindo, Marque Richardson, and Faly Rakotohavana are credited as series regulars, while the supporting cast includes Brenda Strong, Jee Young Han, Edwin Lee Gibson, and Tim Daly.

In addition to confirming her return in the second season of UnPrisoned, Washington also renewed her overall deal with ABC Signature. Tracy Underwood, the EVP of creative affairs at ABC Signature said they’re excited to continue their collaboration.

“Kerry is the gold standard for what a multihyphenate should be— passionate, prolific, and endlessly kind. She, Pilar, and the Simpson Street team are incredible collaborators… We look forward to many more years of their unparalleled creativity and talent,” said Underwood in a statement.
